Desert Harvest Multi-Vitamin Low Acid Formula

21.00

A high quality multi-vitamin is the cornerstone of any good supplement regime, yet for those with interstitial cystitis or sensitive digestion, finding a multi that can be tolerated is often difficult.  Desert Harvest has come to the rescue with this low acid multi that provides a broad range of vitamins and minerals in quantities large enough to actually have an impact.  Totally IC-safe and free from ascorbic acid and vitamin B6, each ingredient is present in a gentle, bioavailable form.  Organic aloe vera powder is also added for your bladder health.

Other key advantages of Desert Harvest Multi-Vitamin are:

  • L-methylfolate is used instead of folic acid for easier digestion and absorption.  This is thought to be the superior type for people with a MTHFR gene mutation to use, as they are less able to methylate other forms of folate.

  • Methylcobalamin is used instead of cyancobalamin – the former is naturally occurring and retained better by the body.  Anecdotally it too is the better form for people with a MTHFR gene mutation to use, as they are less able to convert cyancobalamin into usable methylcobalamin.

  • Calcium glycerophosphate (the active ingredient in Prelief) removes up to 95% of the acid in food and drinks, without lowering the stomach acid necessary for proper digestion of meals.

Ingredients

See image for table of ingredients.  Also contains vegetarian capsules and a trace of silicon dioxide.

Free from gluten, starch, preservatives, GMO ingredients and common allergens.  Kosher certified; suitable for vegetarians and vegans.  cGMP compliant.  IC/PBS friendly and easy on the stomach.

Directions

As a dietary supplement, take one capsule daily, preferably with a meal or as directed by your physician.  Not formulated for use in children.

Warnings

Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under six.  Do not take iron if you have been diagnosed with haemochromatosis.  If you are pregnant, lactating, or concerned about your iron intake, contact your healthcare professional before taking this product.

Tiny says:  I was so excited when I heard that Desert Harvest was bringing out a multi-vitamin, as I know it can be an absolute nightmare trying to find a supplement that contains no ascorbic acid AND no vitamin B6 (or the P5P form of B6) AND the methyl forms of folate and vitamin B12!  This is a nice baseline supplement and I like that it is free from copper and contains good amounts of zinc.  It also packs an impressive punch of vitamins A and E, as well as magnesium.  For those of you with special nutrient requirements, you will probably need to bolt other bits and pieces onto this multi, but the same can be said of every brand one way or another and this Desert Harvest formula creates a lovely foundation on which to build your own bespoke regime.  No more worries about finding a multi that won’t upset your bladder – hurrah!
